party hat.

I'm not sure why this hat would ever be necessary in Arizona. It's nearing the end of Nov. and is still 65 degrees outside. I think I would make a great lumberjack though and therefore believe I should go back and spend the 10 dollars on this hat. Plus, it would be perfect for Utah's weather where it's snowing already and it matches my coat.

half birthday.

Speaking of birthdays, my half birthday was on the 20th. Jake took me to see Harry Potter 7 and I got these awesome cupcakes. There was more frosting than cake, just how I like it. I love cupcakes, but only if they're chocolate cake. White cake is a waste of time.

I love my half birthday. It's awesome!

I also got a new tomtom gps from my mama. More on that later.

Movember.

I think I just scarred my boyfriend for life. He's used to the female looking Jordan, instead he got...
Jordan con moustache. It's Movember, Men's Health Awareness month. I posted the above picture on my facebook to remind all the guys in my life to get a checkup, I want my friends and family to be around for a long long time. Of course to get this awesome profile pic I had to go through several moustaches before I came across the perfect one. Check out the other options below.
Grandpa / Orange County Choppers 'stache.
Guy Fawkes 'stache.
Hitler 'stache.

Food Coma.

This is what happens to me after eating GIANT burritos from Atilano's. I am a sucker for a giant vegetarian burrito. I love those things, I eat until I fall into a food coma and then some asshole takes a picture of me passed out. Instead of doing that he should probably just return my N64 controllers. You hear me Simon? I need to play some Zelda, okay?!

Seven Things.

I got a challenge from thetsaritsasez to do a vlog (video blog) where I talk about 7 things about myself. Then I'm supposed to pass it on to other blogs but I hate chain mail so I'll end the cycle here. You should go check out her blog though. It's fun, she's a young writer living in the San Francisco area and she just published her very first zine. By the way, I've never made a video before on my computer. Macs have a bunch of different programs to make videos. It's rather annoying actually. Let's see if this even works.

Zit = Crazy Jordan.

So today I had a huge zit on my forehead. I mean, freaking gigantic. It's like the size of a quarter. In all fairness, it could be a bug bite. Mosquitoes do bite people's faces sometimes. Anyway, I noticed it yesterday and then this morning but by the evening it was HUGE and I couldn't deal with it anymore. I have a swollen bump on my head and makeup wasn't about to be helpful so instead I took my 15 and walked down the mall and had some random lady cut me some bangs for $5. Good bye mondo zit. I haven't had bangs since I was 12 so it's an adjustment. I just pin them up when nobody is around. My dance teacher is going to be pissed but it was an emergency. I'm so fucking vain.

My friend Simon has a theory that I spend too much time indoors and therefore am breaking out from lack of sunlight. He said, "Your face didn't look like that in high school, maybe you should stop hanging out in front of your computer all day." Jerk. He's right though, my skin has gone to shit since I entered my 20s. Anyway, does anyone know of any good skin care remedies? They have to be lazy people approved. I'm not spending all day on this shit, I'll live with the zits and continue to have creative hairstyles.

Now that I've got my zit covered I can play all the video games I want. Genius!

Lip.

Dear Good Blog People,

I have a confession to make. I'm pretty sure I forgot to tell you I got my lip pierced. You may have noticed it in that picture of me from my dance recital. I wear clear jewelry in it for work but I tend to fail at keeping the jewelry in. The little washer falls off a lot so sometimes I must resort to other things. Anyway, if you're wondering why I did this the simple answer is that I had been drinking and it sounded like a good idea at the time. Actually, I quite like it, even if my mother detests it. Hmm, sounds like most of the stuff I do.

Recital.

So my dance recital was last night. It was really fun. I hadn't been in a recital for years so I was a little nervous but not nearly as much as the younger girls so I mainly just tried to calm them down before the show. One thing that I don't miss about performances is dance makeup. It feels like you cake 15 pounds of crap onto your face. I forgot to get fake eyelashes so I borrowed some from one of the girls; they were bedazzled. That's right, they had rhinestones attached to the top of them. Anyway, it was a lot of fun and there was a nice turnout and all of the little girls were adorable.

Dance.

Hey people, I have a dance recital on the 5th of June at 7pm. Yes, I dance. No, I'm not as clumsy as you thought I was. I started dancing in high school for my school's dance team. We were pretty awesome. Before that I did gymnastics as a kid. I'm not going to pretend like I'm athletic, I'm definitely not. I do really love to dance though. I used to do lots of different types of dance but have decided that tap is really annoying when everyone is not together, it sounds like crap and hurts my head and that white girls look retarded trying to do hip hop. Anyway, I've reduced my dancing down to only jazz which just happens to be, for me, the most fun.

Headset Part Dos.

My sister requested a picture of the headset. Well, here you go. I know it's the sexiest headset you've ever seen. Apparently they make a WoW headset so when you talk you sound like an in game character. I definitely did not shell out the $200 for that thing, even if I kind of wanted to. kidding.

4.10.2010

Headset.

I've been putting off purchasing a headset for gaming for the longest time. Mainly because, to me, wearing a headset is the pinnacle of nerdiness and there was no way in hell I wanted to be up there with the others but alas, here I am. I set up a ventrilo server for my guild tonight with a lot of help from my friend Buzzy (pesky firewalls) and got to talk to some people while playing. It's a completely different experience. I'm now going to never embarrass any of you by talking to you in public again.

Happy St. Patty's Day?

All of this sweet leprechaun apparel can be found on sale at Target for less than $5.00

I like to be sure to wake up early to be first in line for all the after St. Patty's Day sales.

Wicked!

My mom is currently making Kraft mac n cheese for 3 of her 4 adult children at one in the morning because we are too lazy to do it. That, my friends, is a good mother.

My mom, brother, sister, brother-in-law and I went and saw the musical Wicked tonight at the Orpheum in San Francisco. For those of you living under a rock it's loosely based on the Gregory Maguire novel of the same name which, by the way, is amazing.

It's the story of how Elphaba became the Wicked Witch of the West and of her friendship with Galinda, later known as Glinda the Good Witch. The lady who played Elphaba had the most amazing voice but the actress playing Glinda stole the show, especially while portraying Galinda. She was hilarious. Oh, and Fiyero was hot!

Another interesting experience today was taking the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit). It is inexpensive access right into the city but if planning on taking the BART one should really pack a gas mask. That thing had some incredibly stale air where the smells of body odor and sweat linger.

Stunna.

Yesterday I posted this picture with a caption asking something like "do you guys like my new flower headband?" Then I promptly took it down because this is a horribly embarrassing photo to have floating around the interwebz but I received protests so here it is. Mock all you want, my mom and I went to the fabric store on my lunch break and they had this sweet daisy hat thing, I have no idea why. I could pick one up for anyone who thinks they can't live without it.

While at the fabric store we walked down the aisle with all the fake flowers, you know, the kind you leave on graves and what not and I ended up buying a few. So far I've made one headband. If you take the flower off the stem you have to sew all the petals together. I also sewed some felt on the bottom to thread the headband through. It was a fun little project that I did while running dungeons. Multitasking ftw!

Yes, I realize this is roughly the size of one half of my head. I love it!

Frida.

Last night I called my mom with news that I had gotten a new tattoo, "Mom, you're going to freak out. It's an anatomically correct heart with the word mom over the top of it but it has a zig zag line down the middle breaking it in half. It's intense." "*groan* Why did you do that?" This is when I started laughing and gave away that I didn't actually get a mom heart. I did however get a new tattoo of Frida Kahlo. I think she is amazing and I really admire her and the passion with which she confronted life. I have to go back to get it touched up but as always Steve did an amazing job!

I have several tattoos but this is my first that is visible to other people on a regular basis. All of the rest are hidden under clothes. For a long time I had a very strict "no visible tattoos" policy as I wanted to be a teacher and I didn't want tattoos hindering my chance of getting a job. I've thought about getting this particular tattoo in this location for over three years and in the end decided to do it because I knew I would love it and it would make me happy. I still have some reservations about how it will affect future job searches but it's not exactly so far down my arm that a nice little cardigan or suit jacket won't cover it. Also, it's tasteful unlike the cover up of a "Fuck Tibet" tattoo Kay was doing for a guy while I was there. Idiot.

This picture was taken with my cell phone as I have yet again misplaced the cord that connects my camera to my computer. If and when I find it I may post better pictures.

Straight or Curly?

How about short? I decided instead of spending 6 hours and $200+ I would just chop it all off and donate it to Locks of Love which turns it into wigs for children with cancer. So I said adios to 20 inches of hair and got this super cute hairdo. Do you have 10 inches of extra hair you don't want? Donate it!

I'm sick.

I'm sick. Yes, kind of in the head. Really though it's more in the face. I'm sick in the face. :(

clarification: this is not jammed up my nose, it's taped on. It's the kleenex version of a clown nose, obviously.

Alright, it's that time of year...

It's hair time people, decisions need to be made. In January I decide if I'm going to have curly or straight hair the rest of the year. I've had curly for two years now. I love it curly, hair flowers stay in it really well and I just like the look of curls. That being said, I think really long straight hair looks very healthy (unless you dye it crackhead blonde). So, thoughts?
*I know this is shallow and vain, I don't care. I want your opinions now.

my sister

This is my dear, sweet, beautiful sister. It's not her birthday or anything but for some reason I'm thinking about her right now. She is six or so years older than I am and we didn't really grow up together. I remember thinking when I was younger that we didn't have anything in common and it never really hit me that I had a sister. I mean, I knew I had a sister but not in the way that I had a little brother. Then in my teens when she would come home for holidays it was a little eerie that we would have some of the same clothes but we still didn't have anything to bond over. Once she even accused me of wearing her belt when in fact I was wearing my own, we just had the same one but had no idea since we lived so far away from each other. It's funny how you can have so much in common with someone you barely know, and yet still be so different even though you share a biological background. Anyway, the last few years have really brought us to a place where we can get to know each other, we can talk, listen, learn and appreciate each other for who we are, as sisters and as people. I have a wonderful, brilliant, vibrant sister who has an amazing heart and yet isn't too goody-goody, she still has the family bitchiness to her, which is a quality I deem necessary and greatly appreciate. I'm just really appreciative of time, that it gave us a chance to both be in a place in life where we were able to finally forge a meaningful bond. Love you Brooke!

Lobos

My sister and I were shopping at H&M today and as we were exiting the store we walked past this super sweet wolf shirt in the men's section. I just had to try it on. I'm thinking about going back and getting it in a men's medium or large so I can make a wolf sweater dress. Wolves are pretty sweet and this is the reason why, be sure to read the comments!
