What I Love Wednesday Number Nine.
1. A Collection of 9 Large Succulent Plants by SucculentsGalore. I really need to go get some succulents for around my house. So pretty. I especially love the purple one.
2. I Like You Cause You Like Me by LuciusArt. This print cracks me up. It reminds me of something my sister would give me.
3. Old World Handbag by CayennePeppyBags. Such a gorgeous bag. I like the fabric mix used and that amazing giant button. This shop has so many other beautiful bags too. It was really hard choosing my favorite for this post.
I'm linking up at Lollipops for What I Love Wednesday.

What I Love Wednesday Numero 8.
This awesome Calligraphy Bed from Anthropologie goes for $2, 498. Jake used to weld in high school, both of my brothers know how to weld, one does it for a living, and my dad knows how to weld. One of them should be able to make me something similar, you'd think. I'm not going to hold my breath though, they're all busy doing other things. Jake says maybe this winter he might be able to do something if we get all the welding stuff.
I saw this tree top bench on terrain and it reminded me of the driftwood you'd find on the beach back home in Oregon. I want a giant stump for a coffee table or to turn into an ottoman. There is one in our neighbor's backyard and I'm pretty sure nobody lives in that house so I don't really know who to ask about whether or not I can have it.

What I Love Wednesday Number Seven.
Yesterday I went to the local feed store to pick up a few seeds that are apparently a little too obscure for Bi-Mart. They came to $2 and I only had my debit card so the lady just told me to come back another time with the money and gave me the seeds. Small towns are so sweet. I'm going back Thursday anyway to pick up some lemon cucumber plants. Anyway, they had little baby chicks, ducks and geese there. I've wanted to raise chickens for years. You know, just a few, roaming around my backyard. I need to ask my landlord about that.
1. Herb Barn by EcoGro. I need to make one of these to keep my cat from eating my chives. If I were to make one though it would be 100% more ghetto, rundown, bad side of town looking.
2. Tea Time Print by HillaryBird. I want to drink tea in front of a fire atop a killer rug with a gentlemanly bear. I'm kind of jealous.
3. Chicken Nesting Box Plans by 24lavenderlane. My theoretical future chickens want one of these, I know they do. It looks fairly easy to make too!

What I Wore/Love Wednesday.
I got a new dress which is what I wore and what I love this week, I mean, who doesn't love a new dress?! I'm really picky about how they fit and look though. If you look really closely, the dress has little birds in flight all over it.
Jake and I had date night the other night which gave us the opportunity to dress up. I really wanted Mexican but apparently the Mexican restaurant in town is closed on Sundays so we went to a pizzeria instead. It was really fun, even if we were a little overdressed. Also, the pizzeria carries Ninkasi Believer Double Red Ale on tap. Yay for finding one of my favorite local beers in my new state!

Cardigan: Purchased at a little shop in Ashland, Oregon. It's by Flying Tomato.
Dress: Macys.
Shoes: Kenneth Cole found at Ross Dress For Less.
I'm also lusting after this dress from Shabby Apple. I love the neckline and the color. Plus, the model's hair looks pretty cool in this photo.

What I Love Wednesday, Number Four.
1. Hedgehog Towel by Pata Pri.
2. Vintage California Pottery Console Bowl at Iones Attic.
3. I'm Sew Very Happy Print by Love Sugar.
4. Rapunzel Handbag by Enchanted Squirrel.
5. Skeleton Cameo Ring by Saylor Rose.
6. Eco Ballerina Flats in Lime Green by The Generation.
7. Aqua Daisies Organic Cotton Sateen by Wonder Fluff Shop.
8. Superior Servers by Ladies and Gentlemen.
I especially love the skeleton cameo and the Rapunzel bag, they both have so much personality.
The other thing I'm loving is awesome old Rockola jukeboxes. I don't necessarily have anywhere to put one but that doesn't mean I don't want one anyway. I love how they look when they're all lit up.
You don't actually need to sit through the really dumb commercial since the still is of a lit up Rockola.

Fabric at Spoonflower.
Are any of you awesome artists who want to make your own fabrics? Apparently you can at Spoonflower. I was just wandering around online looking for pretty fabrics and somehow wound up at Spoonflower which has thousands of beautiful fabrics designed by many different people.
You can even search by color, which is awesome for quilting, and purchase in many different quantities. They also offer different fabric types. Even if you aren't going to purchase anything, it's really fun to look and play around.

What I Love Wednesday Number Three.
1. Gray Gardens Apron.
2. Winking Wisecracker Jar.
3. Tea and Crumpets Apron.
I have a beautiful apron that I love but it's just a half apron, you know, a pretty skirt. Anyway, I love it for baking but sometimes when I'm cooking on the stove I'd like an apron that covers my shirt as well. I'm just having a tough time deciding between these two from Anthropologie. I was just there the other day and picked up some cute bowls and the peacock plate I had been wanting. I hadn't realized they sold aprons until I was confronted with a giant rack of them. I didn't pick one up that day, I'm still mulling over which one to get. I did however learn that, at least in Boise, Anthro does their markdowns for sale items on Tuesdays. I'll definitely be taking advantage of that little piece of knowledge in the future. I am in love with that cookie jar. Although, I rarely bake cookies so I'm not sure I really need a cookie jar.
| I picked up this bowl at Antrho for almost half off. I love sales! |

What I Love Wednesday (WILW) Two.
Last week's What I Love Wednesday introduced me to Stephanie from Love. Life. Babies. and guess what, I really like her, she leaves the nicest comments! So I've decided to continue to participate in the hopes of meeting more awesome bloggers. So without further adieu, here are my picks for this week:
1. You and Me Print by Bang Bang You're Thread. (love that shop name!)
2. Paper Leaves Wreath by Sadile.
3. Batman Necklace by Spin Thread.
4. Yarn Flower Headband by Peach Parlor.
5. Pheasants and Peonies Vintage Sofa at Thistle Finch.
6. "That day, she was amazed to discover that when he was saying, "As you wish", what he meant was, "I love you." And even more amazing was the day she realized she truly loved him back." - The Princess Bride.
As You Wish Linocut by The Big Harumph.
7. Botanique Lace Necklace by White Owl.
8. Modern Abstract Rustic Coffee Table by MSTRF.
9. Woodland Owl Wing Headband by Sleepy King.
The other thing I'm loving is my sweet landlord. She came yesterday to bring us the keys to the backdoor and the rental agreement and ended up staying for well over an hour just hanging out and talking.
This is the move in gift I found upon my arrival, not to mention she left a space heater for me as she knew I wouldn't have any heat the first night.
She also gave us a box full of onions which are the main local crop. If you knew my eating habits then you'd know how excited I was about this. Onions are my favorite food. I don't eat them apple style or anything like that but I do put them in everything I can get away with.

Produce Bag Sets.

In the spirit of yesterday's post I stumbled upon these awesome farmer's market produce bags on etsy today.

Zenthreads also sells some cool rooster towels that I really like. They're priced really well too compared to a lot of similar towels on etsy. In fact, that shop is full of hand printed eco friendly awesomeness at great prices.

Cast Iron Skillet.
Jake's mom got an apartment of her own, taking most of the kitchen with her. Since all of my kitchen supplies are in Oregon, Jake and I dressed up and went to Ikea. We didn't dress up for Ikea, he took me out to dinner after. Anyway, at Ikea we bought a bunch of items for our kitchen. We didn't want to get too much because I have a lot back home, but there are basics that we need in order to be able to cook.
One of which is this awesome frying pan. Who knew Ikea sells cast iron, and in such a pretty color? This is my all time favorite frying pan ever.
Cast Iron requires special care. You have to "season" your pan and you're not supposed to ever put it in the dishwasher because it can rust. To season your cast iron:
- Preheat your oven to 350.
- Rub lard or bacon grease all over the inside of your pan with a paper towel. Since I don't eat meat products I used Crisco Shortening instead.
- Place your pan upside down on the top shelf of your oven.
- On a lower shelf, place a cookie sheet to catch any drips from your pan.
- Leave in your oven for 1-2 hours.
- Remove and wipe with a clean paper towel.
When cleaning cast iron some people use warm soapy water, drying it immediately and heating on the stove for awhile to ensure it is dry.
Others prefer to use cooking oil and salt to scrub their pans.
We did buy a crock pot for something I'm making for a Super Bowl party but unfortunately it wasn't this particular one from Target. However, Jake said I can have this (not available in stores) crock pot so if anyone needs a slow cooker let me know as I'll eventually be handing down the one I just got.2.02.2011
Another Dress.
It seems like every year there is an anthro dress that I just have to have. There was the airplane dress and then the lobster dress and now this, which I call the little birdie dress. Anthro always has pretty dresses but occasionally one comes along that really speaks to me and my insides hurt until I find a way to come up with the money to make it mine. I find this to be quite hilarious as growing up I had no interest in dresses and wore shorts to school everyday for much of my childhood. It was much easier to play wall ball when you didn't have to worry about a pesky dress. I still don't wear them super often but when I find a good one, they make me so happy.

bebandjays.

I'm hoping to reopen my etsy shop after Jake and I move and get settled in. All of my card making mats are in Oregon and I miss them. I miss my cardstock in pretty colors and my rubber stamps and ridiculously expensive ink pens. I can't wait to show them some love again. In the mean time, I've been posting on my shop's blog, trying to revive it. I've been showcasing some of my favorite etsy shops and posting some crafting ideas. I'm working on something super cool right now that I've never made before so I don't want to post any pics until it's ready but I can't wait to show everyone. Anyway, please go "follow" my blog, I'm hoping to use it to promote my shop, you know, once I have something to promote.

Christmas Present.

Jake got me this awesome recipe box from 1canoe2 for Christmas. It's pretty much my favorite thing ever and I've been busy transferring all of my recipes from my blog and email inbox onto the super thick recipe cards. If you have any tasty recipes you love, pass them along. I also got an extra set of recipe cards so I have lots of room for yumminess.

How bad is it if the only thing I put under "beverages" is cran & vodka?

Whimsical Art.
I saw this image and I absolutely love it. In fact, I love pretty much all of the art in this shop. Her style is adorable.
That print reminded me of a book I read awhile ago and have passed along to my sister. It definitely isn't the greatest book I've ever read but Hector and the Search for Happiness was cute. Hector is a psychiatrist from France (the author is apparently also a psychiatrist) who is wondering what makes people happy. In his search he travels the world, finding questions and some answers. He has a one night stand with a call girl, he gets accidentally kidnapped, and he has other misadventures on his search. This is a little book, it only takes a couple hours to read, great for a wait at the doctor's office or if any of you are subjecting yourself to the TSA, for a flight. The thing about it though is that it's written in a childlike prose which can get a little annoying after awhile, and Hector is pretty naive, so it's good that the book isn't long. If it were longer, it'd stop being charming and start being really annoying. Overall, it's like a self help book on the lite side.11.21.2010
