New Couches!

Jake and I got some amazing new couches this week. The furniture store was having a 50% off sale so I ran down on my lunch break, took photos of some sets I liked, and texted them to Jake who was at home. I'm not really certain that 50% off is even that great of a deal, kind of like with jewelry, but hey, it saved me a ton of money so I'll take it. The set we ended up getting isn't what I would normally choose but once I sat on them, I was sold. They are so soft and comfy. They're made of a velvety type material and the bottom cushions are full of down feathers.

I thought I was getting better but it just isn't happening so I've been laying on our new couches resting a lot. It's so much nicer than laying on our tiny, hard as a rock, old couch. I went to work today but came home early because I felt like I was going to vomit. Working in a restaurant is not ideal when your stomach is upset because all of the different smells start to get to you. I was able to work yesterday for a few hours but felt really lethargic and dizzy. Hopefully I'll get better really soon. Like tonight. Hopefully I get better tonight, that would be amazing!

  1. Not related to this post at all, but since my commenting system went down I didn't have a way to reply to your comment and I wanted to! I think you're 100% right about parenting. About a year ago my mom and I were talking and she told me how when she had me, she made a conscious decision to not say bad things about herself in front of me. You know, that stuff that women constantly talk about like, "Ugh, my stomach is so fat" or "I wish my arms weren't so jiggly." And when I think back, I don't ever remember my mom talking like that at all. I know when I have a kid I want to make the same commitment to ensure that he/she feels great about themselves and doesn't have a self-deprecating mom as a bad role-model. It's true! Parenting is so important!

  2. I hope your bad cat doesn't decide to mark your new couch. When I bought a new futon I had it less than a week before it got marked. I nearly killed the offending cat. He kept marking it until I sprayed it with some repellent spray I found at PetSmart. Now he loves sitting on it all day. Cats are strange animals sometimes. I posted this on my blog about the whole experience: http://outofbarnes.blogspot.com/#!/2011/11/futon.html

  3. Get well soon! That couch looks super comfy so i guess you must have had lots of rest on it! When you get better, it'll be time to crochet some lovely couch coverlets for it! :)
