Is it Tuesday?

I'm exhausted. Ever since we arrived in Oregon I've been running around like a crazy person. A lot has been accomplished though. Yesterday we made the 80 mile drive to get Jake all setup at the VA hospital. Don't worry, there is a clinic we can use for most appointments right here in town. I'm really excited because in Idaho we had to drive an hour to every single appointment.

While in the "city" we chose tile for the backsplash in the kitchen. It's pretty plain. I wanted mustard colored penny tiles but I was vetoed and called an old lady. I can't help it if I like "old lady" stuff, it's just my aesthetic. Since the backsplash is boring, I have big plans for the paint color.

My sister and niece have been visiting from California so I've got to spend lots of time with the cutest little girl in the world. She's pretty much the best. We've been juicing everyday too. Some of our concoctions have been amazing, others, not so much. I have a lot of fun making up juices on the fly, it reminds me a lot of creating recipes for canning.

There has been progress on the apartment. I think either today or tomorrow there will be texture on the walls. I can't wait until we can begin moving in so we can feel like real people again. Living out of a laundry basket just doesn't feel like living.

    1. I knew you'd support me in the old lady department!! We've decided we really liked the VA hospital here because it was so quiet and not full of people and we didn't have to wait in line for HOURS just to get transferred over like we did in Boise. Plus, the guy actually took copies of all our paperwork to have on file, which it seems like they never do and we're always giving them the same papers over and over.

    1. I'm pretty sure I saw them on the Home Depot website. My sister has penny tiles in her bathroom and I love them but Jake and my dad both think they're ugly. Boo.
