I have been looking for a quilt for-e-ver! You know how when you go thrifting or antiquing, you don't just go looking willy-nilly, you have a list in your head of things you're looking for? I've been looking for a quilt for years and I only ever find smelly, ripped up, ugly ones. No more, my friends. I have found a beautiful hand-stitched dresden plate quilt. Near Jake's hometown there is an antiques & consignment shop that I have always wanted to stop at but we never had time. This trip we made time and I finally found my dream quilt.
I love it so so much and haven't stopped smiling since I folded up and put it in my trunk. It's covered in florals and bright colors, it doesn't get any better that that. When we move in a couple weeks I think I'm going to put this beauty on the guest bed. We let our pets sleep with us sometimes and I'd hate to get this covered in pet hair.

ReplyDeleteOMG that is such a pretty quilt!!! i wouldn't bear to use it either!!!! i gotta confess, i'm dabbling into quilting now, i'm trying to make a quilt for my friend's baby boy! i'm excited about it, but i'm still at the cutting out squares stage...
