Chevron/Granny Ripple Blanket.

For Jake's birthday a couple weekends ago we went to Western Days in Twin Falls, ID which is like a mini fair. There are stalls trying to sell their wares, food booths with elephant ears and deep fried oreos, inflatable toys for kids to jump on, a train made out of 50 gallon drums, and metal bands. Yes, we went to see some local metal band. Metal bands are not really my thing so I took my crocheting with me. I had just started a new project I was really excited about and didn't want to stop. Needless to say, I think I embarrassed Jake a little and had a few people scratching their heads, love it!

I'm working on a granny chevron blanket for our bed. If you're new to crocheting, this project would be great for you. There are only a few stitches involved (the beauty of a granny anything) and the pattern I am using by Elizabeth Ham is awesome. The very best part is, she has a tutorial on youtube and it is 16 parts. 16 whole videos to show you exactly what to do, and she goes nice and slowly which is why I think it would be good for a beginner. There are no surprises, she tells you exactly what to do. I didn't watch all of the videos, just enough to get the hang of it and then went on by myself. I love it because it has two of my favorite things, granny stitches and chevrons!

Here is a sneak peek of another project I'm working on that I am really excited about. I can't wait until it's done so I can share it with everyone!
