How to Move Efficiently.

Happy weekend! I'll be spending my Saturday in the car on a 10 or so hour drive with my dad to finally move my belongings to Idaho. Car rides with my dad can be fun because he tells the best stories known to man. The problem is, he is a terrible driver and we'll be pulling a trailer. Scary. We do get to stop in Portland though and visit my little brother who happens to be in Oregon this weekend so I'm really excited for that. I thought I'd leave you with some photos of how guys who have construction equipment do moving. My dad decided to circumvent our steps altogether.

Step One: Place plywood over the forks, load it up with everything you want moved.

Step Two: Very carefully and slowly, move items from top of stairs to the trailer.

Step Three: Lower the lift and put items in trailer.

And there you have it. Three simple steps and you're done!

  4. Hilarious! I think I am finally at the point where I would definitely need a moving truck instead of a caravan of cars/trucks/SUVs. Hope the drive with your Dad isn't too stressful. Have a good trip.

  7. Oh gosh, the thought of a road trip with just my dad makes me simultaneously giddy and nauseous. One second we're cracking up at some inane nonsense, the next he's interrogating me about my political leanings. Ack! If conversations can be manic/depressive, then ours are!
