We went to a party for the Super Bowl and I made some lil smokies and artichoke dip. My mom always cooks her cocktail wieners in beer which gave me the idea to cook mine in a fifth of rum. We made a trip to the liquor store and I got to work. I don't eat meat but the sauce was
amazing and mine were the first wieners to disappear at the party. Woot! Plus, it makes your house smell delicious.
Here is the recipe:
3-4 packages of lil smokies
1 fifth Sailor Jerrys or Capt. Morgan
1.5 cups brown sugar
1/2 bottle of hickory bbq sauce
2 T ground cloves
Mix everything into a sauce in your pot or slow cooker, add wieners, let cook, voila!
Huh, weiners and booze... interesting combination!
ReplyDeleteI also don't eat meat, but I love the sauce that people make wieners in (I've had a few different kinds and have liked them all.) Do you dip cubed cheese in it? I do.
