Vicky Cristina Barcelona is a Woody Allen film that came out in 2008. I've been trying to get my mother and sister to watch it ever since. I absolutely love and adore this movie. I could take or leave Scarlett Johansson, she pretty much sucks in everything, but Penelope Cruz won an Oscar for her portrayal of the crazy, beautiful, and extremely talented Maria Elena. Plus, it has Javier Bardem who is extremely sexy and a phenomenal actor. My sister said today that she doesn't know who Javier Bardem is and it just about killed me. It's not like he was the first Spanish actor to be nominated for and to win an Academy Award or anything. Sheesh! Get on it, sister.
Also, this film has one of the best soundtracks ever. I love the Spanish guitar.
I must have seen this movie about a hundred times.

Ugh, I can't stand Scarlet, either. She doesn't know how to act. But Ms. Hayek is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteJavier Bardem was really creepy and awesome in that No Country For Old Men movie. I can't stand Scarlet, she doesn't know how to act. But Ms. Cruz was wonderful in it.
