Winter Boots for Men.

jakeshoes2

There is someone in this household who is really excited over his new boots. I don't blame him one bit, I'm pretty jealous of how nice they are, I wish I had a girl version. Winter is coming and here on the coast that means a lot of rain. Pretty much everyday will be wet, and even on days when the sky isn't falling, the ground is still soaked through, parking lots are flooded and protecting your feet is of the utmost importance. Having never experienced a rain filled winter before, Jake dug out his old Army boots. They probably would work but for one thing, they're really ugly, for another, they smell awful. Wear some shoes in Iraq for a year and then tell me they smell good. No thanks.

We searched the internet for some boots and this is the pair Jake really wanted. He's in love. I'm in love because in addition to keeping him dry, they don't look like redneck/construction/Army boots. He wore them all day (even in the house, he was so excited) and said they didn't hurt at all. It's important to me that his feet stay warm, toasty, and dry. I don't like taking care of runny noses or contracting anyone else's cold. These shoes should last him for years, which is the best part! They were a bit of an investment for us but should hopefully last, as long as he takes good care of them. Sometimes it's better to invest in something than constantly be buying new of the lesser quality item. How are you preparing for winter?

  1. Yay for jake! That is awesome. They look great too. I would love a new pair of boots. We got some rain boots so when the rode is all wet we wont slip on the way to the laundry room.

  2. I'm with Jake--boots! I figure it's the only wearable item I can buy this year that will still be useful next year. So I bought 2 pair. :) Neither were cheap, but both should last a while. And I'll finally feel properly equipped on my trips to Oregon, cuz one pair is rain boots!! :)

  5. A good rain boot will be made of a material that is water repellent, whether the water is in the form of falling rain or puddles on the sidewalk. The object is to keep your foot dry, and anything else that happens to be on the foot at the time. At one time, the rain boot was considered a practicality, and was not manufactured with an eye to making a fashion statement. These days, however, you can obtain a rain boot is just about any color you can think of, and even some slight variation on the style as well.
