My Heart Belongs to the Pacific.

Stopped by the beach today for the first time since I've been home from the hospital. Windy & cold but home.

My little brother came into town one day and we went out to lunch at the restaurant I used to work at before I got sick. Then he drove us by the beach. I couldn't go out to the water, my legs were too tired and a cane doesn't work particularly well in the sand, it just keeps sinking and sinking, but it was so nice to see the ocean. I always feel like a part of me is missing if I go too long without viewing that gigantic body of water. Staring at the ocean puts life into perspective for me, it reminds me of how vast this planet and universe are and how small and insignificant my problems are. It takes the stress of life down about 7 notches, and all from staring for just a few minutes. It's magic.

  1. I know what you mean. I had a holiday in Devon this year and my holiday flat was on a cliff overlooking the Bristol Channel. I spent most of the holiday sat staring at the sea with a glass of wine. Just the smell and feel of the salt in the air is therapeutic.

  2. I know what you mean. The ocean is a beautiful place and we are so lucky to be so close to it. Glad you were able to visit if only from afar.

  3. Couldn't have said it better myself. There's nothing more therapeutic than sitting and watching the ocean.
