In the past my mom, sister, and I have gotten together in November for a Christmas card making extravaganza. It has been a few years since we've done it though, which makes me sad. Instead, my mom is on a cruise to Mexico, my sister is working on her house and taking care of my beautiful niece, and I'm sitting here on the couch with a snot factory in my head. Lovely.
I think the photo above is from the very first card weekend we ever had together. We rented a house at Shasta Lake, just the three of us. We watched The Wizard of Oz and stayed up late making cards every night. I don't even know if I'll have time to make homemade cards this Christmas for my friends and family but they'll get over it because my mom always sends out the most adorable handmade cards, as does my sister when she has the time, so at least they'll get some pretty in their mailbox.
Do you make your own cards?

Those seriously look amazing. It seems a really nice tradition to make cards with your mother and sister, something my family would never do for sure! hope you have a great day. :)

ReplyDeleteI'm planning on making my own cards this year!!! ^_^ I've always made them for Jen-Jen, however this year I'm making them for her and a few friends! I don't really talk with anyone on my side of the family, so I'm not sending any their way, but I may give one to the in-laws' just for fun (even though we live together! :P)
ReplyDeleteI do not make my own cards, but now I really want to... grrrrr....arrrg.
ReplyDeleteSounds fun as a together activity, plus you get the benefit of sharing stamps and tools! I don't make my own holiday cards, I'm usually too busy making gifts in a caffeine and stress induced overdrive. But for the kids parties I alway make our own invites & thank-yous
ReplyDeleteStupid mom and her stupid vacations. When will she learn?! :)
