Craft Fair is Freaking me Out!

I've been stressing out about my table at the upcoming craft fair. I've never sold at a craft fair before, and I know nothing about this one. You know how some craft fairs are little old ladies with their weird wooden birdhouses and then others are full of cool and quirky booths? I have no idea where this fair lands on the spectrum. I have no idea how much product to make, or if people will even like them or want to buy them.

I've decided to just make as much as I can between now and Dec. 5th and whatever I don't sell I'll put up for sale either on etsy or here on my blog. On the other hand, I'm nervous that I won't have enough stuff and my table will look sad and empty, because I've been working a lot of hours at my job and haven't had the time I'd like to have for crafting and crocheting.

How do people do this as their job? I guess if I had an etsy shop full of stuff it'd be easier to just take my shop down and take all of that stuff to the craft fair. Things to keep in mind for the future I suppose.

  3. start collecting random stuff around the house that you can use for display. that really helps me. i use wooden boxes to hold stuff and a christmas card loop holder to display cards. obviously you need to find stuff that works for you, but the more vertical dimension you can add, and the more interesting items you use for display, the cooler (and fuller) it will look. oh, and i LOVE these colors for young people, but also maybe keep in mind that a lot of craft fair shoppers are mom's age (or older). so if they're shopping for their kids, these colors are fab, but if a 50-something could rock a cowl (I don't know, can they??), maybe also consider making a couple in colors that would look great on someone older. you'll do great!! xo!

  5. you can do it i know you can and if anything this is a great learning experience! the first time is always a bit rough because it is the first time, just remember that. that is very important. just do your best and that is great! brook is right though, start looking at stuff around the house to make you display pop or look nice. i use a colorful sheet and i love the look, grabs peoples attention. wish i could help you! i have a craft fair dec. 2 & 3rd so i gotta get working too!

  6. aww Jordan! I think you will do just fine!! but i feel your anxiety! i kept thinking that i have not enough items to sell and went on this crafting frenzy. but i told myself that it's better to make more than less, like you said, you can list them on etsy after, or gift them for xmas!

just don't stress yourself out cos i did and it made crafting a little less fun. make sure you enjoy the whole craft fair experience, i did write two posts about mine. if you haven't had the chance to read it, here they are and i hope it'll help!
