Preparing for First Frost.

You can barely see it in the bottom of the photo but that is my one bell pepper from the whole year. I'm so proud of that thing. haha

The first frost is supposed to happen in my area on Monday. Some plants can withstand freezing temperatures, but a lot of summer plants will be injured or die because of the frost so I spent the morning in my garden saying farewell to my little plants and harvesting what remained. This year my garden was small, and spur of the moment, but it gave and gave. I've paid attention to what worked well and what didn't, and have made plans accordingly for next year's garden.

Later today I'm going over to the neighbor's house to watch the BSU game and help him get ready for the frost as well. I'm thinking trying fried green tomatoes, just because we've never had them, and then pickling the rest. I also have a couple other zucchini that were given to me so I'm going to shred them and freeze them to make zucchini bread throughout the winter. Yum!
