Yesterday we worked on building benches for our table. Well, one bench. It's hot outside, so we're going one piece at a time. This didn't turn out exactly as I'd hoped but it'll do (the other end is flush but this one had some overhang). I had Home Depot cut the wood for us and they didn't do the best job ever but it works since we don't own a saw. That cracks me up because my dad's basement is giant and full to overflowing with any piece of construction equipment you could ever want. Too bad he lives 10 hours away.
Jake decided to nap after it was together. Lazy bum. I made him move so I could condition and stain the wood.
Riff was "helping" too. He plops himself down ever so ungracefully wherever he pleases. Sometimes, it's right in front of you, as you're walking. He's kind of a jerk like that.
I couldn't find my elastic headband so I tied a scarf around my head to keep the little wispy hairs out of my eyes while I sanded. I kind of like having a big bow on my head, but not a bow of hair like Gaga. I don't think I could pull that off. Why is it that I can take 3 or 4 photos and the only one that looks halfway decent is the one where I have my "mmm...I don't know about that" face where I pull my lips over to the side? I should probably stop doing that or my face might freeze that way.
My first carrot harvest. Woo hoo!! I am so excited about this. I also have purple, white and yellow carrots growing, I can't wait to try them.
my cat Zoe- she plops her self in the middle of the hallway - our hallway is small so really she has to move for you to walk. I think she thinks its hysterical always doing that..

I love benches! I snagged an amazing one that my uncle made...they didn't want it, but about 4 of the ladies in my church did. I was quicker! And I love it so much. :)
