Birthday Banner!

I made a birthday banner to hang for Jake's 27th birthday. I figured we could put it up for every birthday from now on kind of like those cheapy colored foil looking banners people normally get. I left out the "birth" part of birthday though so I can hang it in my craft room and enjoy it all year long. I like it much better this way.

Apparently I missed a "p" when taking photos, and it was the bedazzled one too. Sad.

For the letters I used chipboard as a base and then used different techniques to make them pretty. Some were painted, some were covered in felt, others were wrapped in yarn or glittered. To separate the words I cut a heart out of felt and then back stitched a heart into it with yarn.

So, it may be a little girly with the lace and all but Jake won't mind since he gets cake. Check out the super classy tacks I made back in high school. Might be time to make some new ones.

Happy Birthday honey, love you!

  2. Cute!

In other news, I just learned that you can't click on the comment button when you open the blog thru the FB app. So lame. Maybe I'll go back to manual post. Ugh.

  8. I love it, and I would totally keep it up all year too! :) A girl after my own heart. We keep our Christmas Tree up all year, and decorate it for all the different holidays that come around... or try to. Otherwise I keep stuff on it that matches my neutral decor, and it really fits in since I decorate kind of woodsy.

I came over from FTLOB. Congrats on getting featured! Your blog is beautiful!!
