I've already purchased and begun using glass jars from Ikea to store our leftovers. Not only does it beat the plastic tupperware that you're constantly replacing because they're all different sizes and you lost the lid, but they make your leftovers look so much prettier and more appetizing. Soon I'll be ordering some paperless paper towels and I'm really excited for them as I absolutely loathe paper towels even though they are so useful. I've also been saving pieces of fabric to make my own napkins. I already have a set of 4 my sister gifted me a few years ago.
In addition to making my kitchen more environmentally friendly, I have goals to use more bulk foods such as beans in my cooking and to plan meals in advance so I'm not trying to figure out what to cook at the last minute since that usually ends in me ordering pizza.

Beautiful ideas, hon. I like to use jars too. And my reusable shopping bags. I'm not where I want to be yet with my eco-friendly ways... but I'm working on it.
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend isn't into it (not that he's against it, sort of indifferent) but his family tends to make fun of me and every time they come over they mess up my system (my pantry is full of white flour and sugar that they've bought and left here...) Gah, it just drives me batty!
Anyway, end tangent!
